What would classical composers from 100 years ago think of software?
Throughout classical music history, which started from around 1750 History of Classical Music / The Classical Period up to today, classical composers only used physical instruments like (violins, violas, violoncellos, and double basses, flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, four horns, trumpets, and timpani). 100 years until today is still the same, classical composers kept using these traditional musical instruments. Even if we had FL Studio 100 years ago, it wouldnt change this but, there are some young classical music composers today who do use FL Studio Classical music with FL Studio / Classical Composition in a Daw? and I feel this Quara post is very close to this one too What DAW is best for a classical composer? So, What would classical composers from 100 years ago think of software synthesizer like FL Studio or Vocaloid? I think classical composers 100 years ago would most probably consider using it, and may also use it, why wouldnt they? Even then, I think they might not like the unrealistic sound of using a DAW by itself, and loosing the physical affection between a real musical instrument and themselves. Maybe this is an old forum, but it is relevant to this question Making computer compositions sound more realistic? And another Quora question on What's the best software and hardware to compose orchestral music?
