What are your thoughts on Fl Gov.?
This is perfectly consistent with the Republican ideology.One of the core characteristics of Republicans is that only things that effect them are real problems. For example Rather infamously, Ronald Reagan ignored the AIDs crisis for years. After all, it was only killing thousands of homosexuals. It was never going to effect decent people. It would never touch anyone THEY knew. Then Reagans fellow actor and friend, Rock Hudson who was dying of AIDs, had a talk with Ronny about the heartbreak and horror of AIDs and, guess what he did then? Reagan proposed AIDs research. It was the same with Alzheimer research. Ronny ignored and Nancy was against funding Alzheimer research. UNTIL Ronny was diagnosed with Alzheimer disease. Then Nancy was ALL in favor of Alzheimer research funding. For the majority of Republicans nothing is a problem unless it effects them or someone they care about. THEN the government cannot do enough to address their problem.
